Rueda-Heinemann Residence

bedroom & bathroom addition

This addition created space for two new bedrooms and a new bathroom, to accommodate the needs of a growing young family. Conceived as a wing extending into the substantial rear yard, the addition connects to the existing house by way of a narrow "bridge." The modern style of the addition, with an emphasis on crisp angular planes, provides a counterpoint to the traditional mid-20th-century form of the existing house. The staggered rooflines allow for a high set of clerestory windows above the bedrooms.
